W. Dean Hester

Walter Dean Hester is a licensed Texas attorney with more than 53 years of experience: in Austin (5 years), El Paso (13 years), Fort Worth (9 years) and again in El Paso for the last 26 years. Dean has practiced before the State Board of Insurance and other state administrative agencies, including the State Banking Board and the State Securities Board. Over his long career, Mr. Hester has also practiced in banking, bankruptcy, commercial law, corporations, partnerships, securities, municipal finance and business litigation. Most of his practice has been focused on securities law, mergers and acquisitions, complex corporate matters and franchise law. Mr. Hester has served on the Planning Committee for the Annual Conference on Securities Regulation and Business Problems at the University of Texas Law School for several years and served as a moderator and speaker. Mr. Hester represents individuals and families with cases focused in business associations, mergers and acquisitions, securities, franchising, municipal finance and commercial law. Along the way, he has assisted trial and arbitration specialists in various technical aspects of corporate and securities law.
Mr. Hester has served on the boards of directors or trustees of the El Paso Rehabilitation Center, the El Paso Arts Alliance, the El Paso Community Foundation, the Center for Volunteerism and Nonprofit Management, the El Paso/Juarez Interplex World Trade Center, the El Paso Bar Association and as a member of the Budget Review Committee of the El Paso Independent School District. From time to time, he has been a consultant on commercial law to the Editorial Board of the Texas Collections Manual, published by the State Bar of Texas.
